New Marina Mar benches in Sant Martí, Barcelona – 2025

In recent years, the heart of Barcelona has undergone a significant transformation, with roads being replaced by green spaces and pedestrian areas.

The urban redevelopment project on Cristóbal Moura Street, located in the Sant Marti district of Barcelona, has now reached its final phase with the opening of the new green corridor. The main objective has been to convert the street into a linear garden, featuring two two-metre-wide concrete pathways for shared use by pedestrians and cyclists.

Surrounding the landscaped areas, where various plant species have been introduced, our new Marina Mar benches have been installed, alongside bins and diverse lighting fixtures. The benches and chairs play a key role in integrating the sustainable design that defines this project. Positioned along the circular islands of vegetation, the benches with certified wood enhance the sense of continuity within the 6.500 m2 corridor.

The result is a beautiful space designed for local residents, adapted to new climate conditions without compromising on sustainability. Projects such as the redevelopment of Cristóbal de Moure Street are a clear example of how cities can evolve to become more resilient and environmentally sustainable.
