Customized urban equipment: our technology at the service of your ideas

One thing is who we are and another one is who we can become. This is the philosophy we defend in Grup Fábregas. That is why, although we have more than 100 years of experience in the manufacture of urban equipment, there is nothing we like more than innovating by listening to our customers’ ideas for customized projects.

While we are known for manufacturing and supplying our standard products very quickly all around the world, we also have the ability to manufacture customized products. In fact, we use that same technology and know-how to make it happen.

How we help you depending on the stage of the project

A customer’s proposal for a new product may come from different maturity points:

There is not yet a design or product, in this case we do carry out all the design and protype phase in coordination with the customer. Once the final design is validated, we start production.
There is already a confirmed design, and we go directly to the production / manufacture.
The customer has an idea of the prototype, but it is incomplete. Here we assist and participate in the final design phase of the product, so we help the customer to close and validate the final prototype to start production.

We love to pick up the gauntlet in these kinds of proposals. We are able to give a successful response in each case because our production team has specialized personnel in blacksmithing, carpentry, welding and iron in general. This wide range of professionals working together makes us a versatile and experienced group.

Of course, one thing to keep in mind is that the delivery time for these types of customized projects is much longer than for our standard products. There is no specific deadline, but it will depend on the type of product to be manufactured and its complexity. Before delivery, the product has to go through the design, validation and production phase.

Suggestions for customizing urban equipment

Do you want to create or design urban products and make them real? Here some suggestions to inspire you.

First, think about the function you want it to serve. Perhaps we can incorporate add-ons or enhancements that are an evolution of a standard design. For example:

Adding an ashtray to an existing bin
Incorporating a rain manhole cover to a bin without a cover
Reinforcing the resistance of bins or vandal-proof benches for high crime areas
Attaching a special armrests to an urban bench
Manufacturing bike racks with extra seats
Manufacturing special frames for function manhole cover assemblies

Second, decide on the material. We can manufacture and design products with practically any material: steel plate, stainless steel, corten steel, aluminum, cast iron, wood, recycled polymer, etc. In the case of cast iron or polyethylene, we have the capacity and know-how to design the product mold, validate it and manufacture it.

Third, the final touch: the finish. In this sense, we have the capacity to carry out:

Painted wood of any color. Each color has a load of meaning. Sometimes it can contain a vindictive message, as for example, the lilac color for the fight against gender violence.
Marking of logos of municipalities or companies to any of our wood or steel products.
Application of any type of finish to the material or anti-corrosion treatments.

We have already accumulated extensive experience in customized projects by the customer. Some are based on the modification of models from our catalog, while others starts from scratch and are completely customized to the customer’s specifications.
