History of Grup Fábregas

The origin of Grup Fábregas dates back more than 100 years when, in the center of Igualada, a small and traditional foundry was founded. One of the most recognized projects for the city was the manufacture of the main beams of the Caixa de Igualada bank.

The current team of Grup Fábregas represents the fourth generation of foundries. This is a century of knowledge and experience, which has consolidated us as one of the leading companies of the sector.

After several decades of experience in the field of foundry, in Grup Fábregas we began to design and manufacture our first models of urban furniture. A trajectory of 50 years in urban furniture, which has helped us to form a wide range of solutions we currently offer.

The first bench we launched was the MODO C-106 Classic, whose evolution is the MODO08, with a more modern and minimalist design. A bench that, nowadays, remains one of the best-selling and most requested models on the market.

In order to respond adequately to the demands of our customers, in 1989 we evolved to become Grup Fábregas.

With the turn of the century, we ventured to design and manufacture urban furniture in polyethylene.

A risky bet with an innovative material, which at that time was non-existent in the market. But the quality is perceived and valued, and our proposals of urban furniture in polyethylene received a good acceptance in the market.

For this reason, to this day we continue to bet on this material in a wide collection and we already distribute it in more than 100 countries.

In a sector where everithing seemed to be said, the urban sewerage, Grup Fábregas continued to bet on evolving.

Thanks to our experience in the market, we detected an opportunity to manufacture manhole covers and grates in composite. The composite is an innovative material with very different properties than smelting, so it makes it easier for us to offer a more complete solution to our customers.

In Grup Fábregas we are very aware of the changes of tomorrow. The city is evolving and is being redesigned.

But we already know that the respect for the environment and the responsibility in the use of resources will be present. Therefore, since 2015 we have been addressing how to introduce the circular economy into our chain, and we started to work with materials from the selective collection of urban, marine and post-consumer waste.

The first projects were bike lane separators and a collection of urban furniture. The success of these products has opened up a field in which we still working.
