Marina Mar benches and chairs

In the new Can Batlló park, Barcelona

The transformation of Can Batlló Park represents one of Barcelona’s most significant urban renaturalisation projects in recent years. Conceived as a meeting place for the local community and a benchmark for sustainability and urban quality, this new green space incorporates a series of relaxation areas designed to allow residents and visitors to enjoy their surroundings in comfort.

Marina Mar collection

Tropical wood slats and corten steel legs

In Grup Fábregas, we have contributed to the project by supplying Marina Mar benches and chairs, a collection designed to integrate naturally into a park where vegetation, pathways and rest areas play a central role.

One of the most distinctive features of this project was the bespoke manufacture of several of the benches. Tailored to the park’s curves and dimensions, they create continuous seating that follows the layout of the space, demonstrating both the versatility of our manufacturing processes and our ability to develop customised solutions for every project.

The Marina Mar collection combines FSC Mix 70% certified tropical wood slats, treated to provide outstanding outdoor durability, with corten-brown finished steel legs. This carefully selected combination of materials adds warmth to the overall design, blends harmoniously with the landscape, and provides the durability required for a heavily used public space.

Can Batlló Park is a clear example of how design, sustainability and bespoke manufacturing can come together to meet the needs of a city in constant transformation.

Sustainability and custom manufacturing

Taking part in projects of this scale gives us the opportunity to contribute to the creation of ore liveable public spaces, where urban furniture is no longer simply a functional element but becomes an integral part of the identity of the place.
