WPC picnic tables

At the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona

At the Barcelona Faculty of Medicine, located within the historic Hospital Clínic complex, we have participated in the renovation of the furniture for an outdoor rest area. As a space used daily by students and faculty, the project required a durable, functional solution capable of integrating with the architectural character of the surroundings.

Furthermore, the chosen option had to be environmentally friendly—a key philosophy for the institution—and require low maintenance. The selected model was the E-PICNIC-WPC picnic table. A solution that encompasses design, durability, and sustainability.

Technical material for demanding environments

This table and bench set is manufactured from WPC, a material that combines recycled plastic and biomass, resulting in a completely recyclable and environmentally friendly product.

Another major advantage of this material is its high resistance to both weather conditions and intensive use, which is typical in university spaces.

With a capacity for 6 to 8 people, we created a practical space for sitting, eating, meeting, or simply taking a break during the day.

Completely integrated design

Integration into the surroundings was another important aspect of the intervention. The Faculty of Medicine is housed in an early 20th-century building with classical architecture.

The wood-effect finish and the simple, functional design of the tables allow for a natural connection between the architecture and the green areas without creating a visual conflict with the building.

With this intervention, the outdoor area gains a rest space prepared to meet the daily pace of the faculty. The tables provide capacity for groups, and the durability of the WPC ensures they maintain their functionality in a high-traffic outdoor environment.

At Grup Fábregas, we develop urban furniture solutions that combine sustainability, durability, and design to integrate into spaces with diverse needs, respecting both their functionality and the identity of the environment.
